Silently we walk the halls, silently we run.
Silently we engage in life until that life is done.
Silently we’re with our friends, and silently we smile.
Silently we choke alone abandoned all the while.
And when we speak our words are hollow belying any sound.
And when we think our minds are drowned in the pervading darkness around.
And when we cry our tears are dried by our quickly heated face.
And sorrow becomes humor as emptiness fills its place.
Silently we’ll go to work, silently we’ll go to church.
And we’ll live our lives with dreams not grasped and faith not held and hopes are drowned and friends are forgotten and lovers are scorned and truth is not grasped and God is silenced.
Silently you’ve read this, but silent you mustn’t remain.
Speak quietly to yourself, then speak loud.
Shout then to others then shout what truth you’ve found.
